Venu Popuri and Swapna Inuganti open Luckys Diner in Wokingham, fulfilling their dream and bringing diverse menu to the town.
They used to work in sales and IT. They really love food, and the menu at Luckys made them want this. Swapna said they dreamed of owning a business; this is their first business venture! Seeing the Luckys banner makes her emotional.
She said the menu is the reason they chose this because it has food for all ages, young and old. They felt the town needed this kind of variety. This Wokingham Luckys Diner seats one hundred people, and ten staff members work there, making it the franchise’s largest branch.
Hasan Habib owns the Luckys group. He wants the restaurant to help the town and says they will partner with local businesses which can help the local economy grow. They will use local suppliers too, and he believes in Venu and Swapna’s plans.
The opening night offered 20% off food and drinks. Councillor Carol Jewell attended the event and said the owners researched the town. She is happy they want to help the community, and she liked the diner’s decor very much, looking forward to their contributions.
Luckys Diner started in Oldham in 2018. They now have ten locations open and plan to add twenty-seven more this year. The menu has a variety of options: you can get burgers, wraps, and steaks, as well as chicken and desserts. Milkshakes and a bar are also available.
The diner is open late most nights. Monday through Thursday, it opens at noon and closes at 11 PM. Friday through Sunday, it opens at 11 AM and closes at 11 PM. Takeaway is available too.
The diner is in the Elms Field area, which the council helped regenerate. Another restaurant is coming soon: Opuz Kitchen & Bar, which will offer Turkish food and has restaurants in Watford and Hemel Hempstead.
