Tim Perks, who saved the pub from closure in 2018, is leaving after seven years to enjoy a well-deserved rest.

He wasn’t a landlord before, nor had he ever worked in the beer business. Tim spent thirty years in the fire service, and he invested his all into the pub.
Tim said it was never about the money; he cared about the community and wanted to do right by the locals.
He is stopping because of his age and will soon be 55 years old. Tim has worked since he was sixteen, and now he needs some rest.
His wife, Rachel, is a college principal, and they both always work hard. It’s time they take a break together.
Mr. Perks announced his leaving on Facebook. Regulars responded with lots of support, and they commented on his post. One person felt sad to hear the news, as they loved Tim being in charge of the pub.
Another thanked him for his years of work. This marks an end for the current landlord, and the search for someone new has begun. Customers want to keep the pub alive.
They might have found a new landlord already, someone who knows the pub well. This person has been a customer for years.
The pub will stay open, said Tim. It has a future, and it won’t turn into apartments. Mr. Perks will serve his last drink March 22nd.
