Trains from Birmingham to Worcester face cancellations and delays after a train hit a deer near Barnt Green.

Trains were stopped on the Birmingham to Worcester line because of this incident, impacting several stations. These included Foregate Street and Shrub Hill, and Worcestershire Parkway trains also saw delays.
Police arrived and found out the train had hit an animal. West Midlands Railway later confirmed it was a deer.
West Midlands Railway shared around 7:15 AM that a train had struck an object near Barnt Green. They expected problems until midday. Trains were canceled, delayed, or had to change routes.
The 8 AM train from Birmingham to Worcester was canceled. It would have stopped at Barnt Green, Bromsgrove, and Droitwich Spa, as well as Malvern and Ledbury. Four earlier trains were also delayed.
One service was canceled at Worcestershire Parkway, and two other trains had slight delays there. Trains between Birmingham and Longbridge were also affected, as these trains also stop at Bromsgrove and Redditch.
West Midlands Railway used buses to replace some trains, and the train lines reopened around 8:50 AM. Passengers were told to expect continued delays.
British Transport Police reported receiving information about a train hitting something near Barnt Green station around 6:55 AM. Police went there and found an animal had been hit.
