Christine Patrick is retiring now. She fostered kids for 18 years. Her journey began back in 2007. She worked with Worcestershire Fostering. It’s part of the County Council.

She offered short-term and respite care. Christine has five kids of her own. She also has six grandkids. Plus, she’s a great-grandmother to one. She fostered many children.

She helped babies deal with withdrawal. She also supported teenagers. Christine sought a career change after seeing a fostering ad that talked about an information session. Her kids were away at college then.

She brought one child to the meeting where they learned what fostering involved. The family understood the commitment, and Christine had lots of love to share. Life doesn’t always go as planned.

She feels very fortunate and thinks people can do good things. Later, she cared for twelve babies, eleven of whom were adopted. Adopters met their babies due to her.

One adopter thanked Christine, remembering holding her baby for the first time. Christine played a part in their motherhood and found it very rewarding. Councillor Steve Mackay thanked her for 18 years of impactful service.

He is responsible for children and families and is grateful for all she did. He wishes her well in retirement.
