RSPCA launches Big Conversation, inviting Worcestershire residents to share views on animal welfare and futures.

The first part ends Friday, February 28. People have three weeks to participate in it. It’s called Animal Futures: The Big Conversation.
The RSPCA wants a huge animal discussion. Topics involve society’s use of animals. They also include technology’s impact, farming, and wildlife.
The charity thinks animal welfare faces a turning point. Climate change makes problems. So does AI and intensive farming.
Gemma Hope works for the RSPCA. She said Worcestershire’s people decide animal futures. Animals face significant issues right now. Our choices now matter greatly. They affect animals’ future lives. Animals could live better or suffer more.
The RSPCA did a survey before this. It found 26% of UK people want robot pets. 42% of those aged 25-34 want one. In the West Midlands, 34% want a robot pet.
Hope explained technology changes our views on animals. This includes robot pets and gene editing. Also, AI helps farming and animal communication.
Hope noted robot pets cause mixed feelings. The market for them grows quickly. The Big Conversation welcomes opinions about this.
The RSPCA’s next phase occurs later. It runs from March 17 to April 6. People get another chance to speak up then.
