Hobson & Porter starts construction on Lime Trees in York. The Yorkare Homes project will feature care and many amenities.

The care home will sit off Shipton Road in Clifton. Hobson & Porter, a construction firm, builds it, and Yorkare Homes, based in Brough, will run it. This is their ninth project together.
Lime Trees is Yorkare’s sixteenth care home. They have homes across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Demolition of Lime Trees Medical Centre started in 2024; the center was previously on the site.
Yorkare gave land to York Sports Club, which allows them to construct more pitches there. Lime Trees will have twenty en-suite rooms per floor, each including emergency call-out systems.
One floor specifically will focus on dementia care. The home will have nice communal spaces and amenities. Expect two bars, one with a barista area.
They plan restaurant-style dining rooms and a salon, cinema, bowls green, and greenhouse. Balconies with garden views finish the project.
Hobson & Porter built Haxby Hall for Yorkare; it is a care home four miles from York. The 63-bedroom home cost £10 million and has been very popular. They hope Lime Trees will do just as well.
