Retrograde, the arcade cafe in Eagles Meadow, Wrexham, is closing down next month after being open for only a year.

The cafe was unique, selling coffee, pizzas, and offering arcade games. Sadly, they just didn’t get enough customers, and it wasn’t sustainable to keep going, you know?
Charles Hughes and Kyle Oliver shared the news online, announcing that March 1st will be their last day. They’re having a farewell party, inviting people to come down for pizza and games.
They said this isn’t really the end for Retrograde, it is the end of chapter one for them. They plan to get more games and hope to reopen sometime in the future!
The owners thanked everyone for their support, saying it was a cool opportunity to try something new in Wrexham. They appreciate those who visited and returned, but it just wasn’t enough.
The team also thanked Eagles Meadow, acknowledging their support in getting started and continuing to support them. They also thanked their friends and family, saying they couldn’t have done it without them.
People online expressed sadness about the closing. Some customers said they will miss the pizza, while others mentioned missing the hot chocolates and coffee, and the friendly chats, too!
Retrograde will operate as usual until March 1. They are inviting everyone to their farewell event, planning to celebrate their hard work and successes.
