This project studies older LGBT people’s lives. It looks at their past and present in North Wales. Being LGBTQIA+ today is the focus.

Attitudes toward LGBT people changed since 1967. Wales and other places saw much older LGBT suffering. They faced attacks because of who they were. The Rainbow Foundation helps older people.

This Wrexham charity offers needed services. It supports them as they get older in life. Ian Pope directs operations there.

He says older LGBT people hide their identity. They fear what might happen if they don’t. Coming out causes anxiety.

Older people must come out again and again. Health and care services can make things worse as well. LGBTQIA+ people often suffer worse health.

Mr. Pope wants to help people in the health system. He is glad to work with Wrecsam Pride. You can share stories at Lle Hapus.

The event is in Eagles Meadow on February 23. It starts at 2PM with hot drinks and biscuits. The venue is easy to access for everyone.

They can arrange transport if you need it. Email or visit the Pride Wrecsam page online instead.
