Wrexham Police FC, formed in 2022, surpasses £50000 in donations benefitting various local and national charities.

The team played MvF Wrecsam on February 2nd, raising £1,300. The money went to The Wallich, a Welsh charity that helps homeless people.
Sgt Dave Smith founded the club. He received an honor from the King, the British Empire Medal for charity services. He also helped the north Wales community.
Dave said the team has officers with different skills. They wanted to use football to help connect police and the public. They aimed to build stronger community bonds.
The club has played about 19 games since starting in 2022. They have aided hospices and homeless charities. Mental health services also benefitted, as well as domestic abuse services and local hospitals.
Dave said all these groups do vital work, and the team is proud to raise money for them. Celebrity supporters have also donated, which benefits the charities.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney donated generously. Actor Michael Sheen also made big pledges, which really helped the team.
Wrexham Police FC has raised £50,000. Sgt Smith wants to keep building on this work to help even more people.
Dave said there’s a lot of positivity in Wrexham now, because of the new football club owners. Ryan and Rob have been very supportive, donating about £20,000 to causes.
Dave said they truly appreciate all donations, no matter the size; every contribution is important. They plan to support more good causes soon.
The next game will support the Countess of Chester Hospital. They will play Jumpers for Goalposts, another charity team.
The game is on March 2nd in Clywedog. All the money donated will go to the hospital to buy a retina scanner, which helps eye patients.
