They had no children. However, friends and family surrounded them with love, including her nieces Angela and Sian. Ivor passed away in his 70s, and after that, Margaret lived alone. Last September, she moved to Conifers Care Home in Ruabon.
Angela says her aunt is very independent. Margaret always loved baking, and clothes were also one of her favorite things. They enjoyed trips to Cheshire Oaks and Shrewsbury.
Margaret outlived her siblings and husband. She is the eldest resident at Conifers, and the staff adore her. The care home gave her a party, and Rhos Community Council visited with gifts. Councilors Paul Pemberton and Steve Joe Jones attended.
They gave Margaret flowers and a card, and they discussed her life in Ponciau. They also talked about her family’s shop. Councilors said she is still very sharp.
Margaret got a card from King Charles. She got a card on her 100th birthday too, which surprised her. She asked if the King felt better. She had a big party for her 100th, and this year’s party was joyous. She enjoyed cake and sandwiches.
Jemma Johnston works at the care home, and she said everyone loves Margaret there. The care home wishes her many happy returns, and they think she is an amazing woman.
