Wrexham is asking locals to share opinions on public toilets to improve accessibility and standards by April 14.

Toilets matter, even if we don’t discuss them daily. Clean, close toilets are key for everyone, especially if you have kids, are elderly, or have health issues.
Wrexham asked about toilets back in 2023 to learn about your experiences. People shared thoughts on hours, cleanliness, locations, and accessibility. 520 people responded to the survey, commenting on cleanliness and costs.
The council used feedback to create a plan that will help locals and visitors. It aims for long-term, sustainable solutions by reviewing the quality and quantity of local toilets, and the goal is clean, safe, and accessible toilets.
They especially want ideas for inclusivity because budget limits mean no upgrades to existing toilets. They will keep cleaning and doing maintenance, and repairs for vandalism will still happen.
Toilets are a big deal to residents and visitors. The population assessment showed significant concerns, as types and quality vary a lot across the county. Most toilets are in the city center area of Wrexham, while rural areas lack enough options, according to BTA.
Sufficient accessible toilets are actually available already; these units mostly exist within the city center itself. Wrexham values wellbeing and enjoyment very much, and long-term toilet solutions are now needed badly.
The draft strategy has been made available online for all, and the deadline for comments will be April 14.
