Wychavon’s public restrooms secured top honors in England and the UK for the third consecutive year, winning awards for hygiene and facilities.

The Loo of the Year Awards, which started in 1987, aim to improve public restroom standards. They assess each toilet’s hygiene, facilities, and repair status.
Judges especially liked Wychavon’s baby changing areas, granting them a special award. Milestone Ground restrooms in Broadway, the best public restrooms in a car park, also won.
Six Wychavon restrooms earned Diamond status, the highest possible honor. Broadway Activity Park, High Street Car Park in Pershore restrooms, Church Walk, and Oat Street all won awards. Abbey Park toilets in Evesham received Platinum.
Wychavon has recently focused on upgrades, installing water-saving toilets. Solar panels and LED lights help reduce power use. They also recycle water and use efficient dryers.
Special restrooms for disabled folks, called Changing Places toilets, are in several spots. These can be found in Droitwich Spa, Broadway, Evesham, and Pershore.
A council member expressed pride in the win, noting that Wychavon keeps their restrooms open and free while many councils are closing theirs. They emphasized continued improvements for everyone.
They expressed their gratitude to the contractors for their dedication. The cleaning staff keeps the toilets clean throughout the year, demonstrating great diligence.
