A new map pinpoints Wycombe’s speed camera hotspots with A40 London Road topping the list with nearly 12000 offenses!

These spots use fixed cameras, you know, the yellow box type. These aren’t mobile vans. Police mapped 22 camera sites in Wycombe, and this data comes from police records.
Treadaway Hill had the third most offenses. It’s a mobile camera site. It caught nearly 5,700 drivers speeding. New Road and Chapel Lane followed, and they are also fixed camera sites.
Speeders either paid a fine or went to court. A guilty plea means a £100 fine. Also, three points go on your license. Not guilty pleas go to court. Police don’t track court outcomes.
Police keep the mobile cameras running. They maintain the fixed cameras too. Highway authorities also maintain some. The court handles fine money, not police.
Some Wycombe cameras caught many people. Other cameras caught no one at all. Hithercroft Road and Sawpit Hill had zero, as did B474 Elm Road and Desborough Avenue.
A404 Marlow Hill caught 763 in 2019. Weirdly, it caught zero after that. Police confirmed “zero” means no recorded offenses. Maybe these sites have no issues now.
