Extinction Rebellion protests Nando’s over river pollution, claiming its supply chain damages the environment.

XR BCP joined River Action and other groups. They say Nando’s uses suppliers that hurt rivers. The protest happened at a Bournemouth Nando’s location. People held signs with messages like, “Nando’s chicken is killing rivers.”
Daniel Glennon spoke about the River Wye, saying chicken numbers there doubled in ten years. Each person has seventy-nine chickens in that area and Nando’s uses Wye-area farms. These farms create tons of waste daily, polluting and killing the river.
Liz Brereton said people support their cause and noted local rivers also suffer from farm runoff, though not as badly as the River Wye. Instead of boycotting, she suggested asking Nando’s to get sustainable chicken. The groups want immediate action for transparency and better environmental protection efforts.
