Moxy Hotel renovations get green light; jeweller sign denied for not fitting historic area.

They must start the work within three years. This follows some rules about planning stuff. It’s part of the Town and Country Planning Act.
The plant roof has zinc and PVC parts. They need to fix stuff inside the hotel because water leaked in, causing damage. Raising the roof by 300mm should help. After repairs, timber will fill in the structure.
One person wasn’t thrilled. They said developers keep asking for more changes and thought the changes were annoying. They saw lots of rotten wood removed. This made them think the structure was failing.
Also, they said NO to a new sign for Harlequin Antique Jewellery, which is at 68 Goodramgate. The council didn’t like the sign’s details or its spot.
The council said the sign looked wrong and didn’t fit the historic buildings nearby. The property is a Grade I listed building in a special conservation area. You can find planning info on the council’s website.
