The York Design Awards are now open for 2025 entries. The awards recognize innovative architecture and sustainable designs.

Professor Lorraine Farrelly and Phil Bixby spoke there. She leads the new architecture school at York University. He won three awards in 2024.
York Design Awards show off great architecture, honoring innovation and sustainability, and also respecting the city’s history. You can enter different property types, including homes and commercial buildings, as well as open spaces and landscape projects.
They accept projects finished in the past three years. Check their website for how to enter and to learn about the judging process. Winners will celebrate in June at the ceremony which happens at City Screen.
Ann Reid leads the York Design Awards, and expects fantastic entries this year. She noted that standards are rising each time.
The launch showed York’s design energy and high interest in these awards. Last year’s winners included Wonderlab, Brainkind, Heworth House, and All Saints Church.
