Roadworks at York Station Gateway start February 17. Expect traffic delays during night work to improve public spaces.

The workers dug up roads near the station, this happened weeknights starting February 17th, and they also worked the week of February 24th. They will resurface the area, which fixes the public spaces.
Two-way traffic lights controlled traffic at night. Ground work started last month too. The project should finish this year.
The goal is to fix up York Station’s look. Paving happened near Blossom Street lately. Workers are fixing footpaths there now, and they are improving the kerbs too.
You can still get to the station, and you can still reach nearby places. More night work is set for mid-March. The station and shops are still open as usual.
The council said “sorry” for any trouble and that workers will keep disruption to a minimum.
The city council and others fund this project, and Network Rail, LNER, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority are involved. The UK government provides some money.
The project will change the station’s look, improve transport options there, and make the public space better. The City Walls will look nicer also.
