Nox, a gothic boutique offering elegant rock and roll items, opens in York’s Goodramgate, drawing crowds on its first day.
Hannah Heretik and Oli Brown, aged 28 and 35, founded Nox. Originally from Nottinghamshire, they chose York for their store. They felt York was the perfect city.
Around 90 people visited before lunchtime, and more were expected later. The weather improved during the day, confirming opening day success as younger, gothic people visited the shop. Many different people also stopped by.
The owners want to support diversity and ensure everyone feels comfortable. The shop sells jewellery, cushions, candles, and wax melts. Perfumes are available too.
Some products are selling out quickly, indicating high demand. Séance Perfumes are exclusively available at Nox. The owners work with independent creators and showcase them on social media. Their handle is @noxofyork.
Nox of York opens Thursday to Sunday, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
